Mother’s Day Toddler Art: Cotton Round Tulips! 🌷

I wanted to try out using the @learningresources jumbo eyedroppers with my toddler today and these cotton round tulips were the perfect craft to do it with!

Grab some cotton rounds, fold them in half, cut a little triangle shape out of the top to get your tulip shape, I mixed washable paint with with some water to make it more of a liquid (and so that the paint could wash out of my toddler’s clothes!), then grab some droppers and let your toddler squeeze the droppers to get paint all over the “tulips!”

Then just wait for them to dry, tape to a piece of paper, and add in some stems and leaves! Super cute little activity that makes the perfect Mother’s Day art! 🖼️

Mother’s Day Toddler Art: Rip & Crumple Hyacinths! 🪻

Grab some tissue paper, rip it into small pieces, crumple those pieces up, grab a piece of card stock, draw on some stems and leaves, then just glue your tissue paper onto the stems to make the cutest little hyacinth art! Perfect for a fun Mother’s Day craft to keep or to give to the grandmas! ✨

Macy has really been into ripping up paper lately, so I figured we could turn that interest into the cutest little craft today!

She definitely had a lot of fun ripping up the paper and attempting to crumple it up! Perfect to work on those fine motor skills! But I think her favorite part was the glue stick! So sticky and fun!

Macy is 15 months, so a lot of it was hand over hand at the end, but it’s still so much fun to spend time together and try something new! She was able to explore some new textures and surprisingly she is putting less and less in her mouth lately, which is starting to open up some different activities! She did try to taste the tissue paper and the glue stick, but once she realized that it wasn’t too tasty she put it back down! Letting your toddler explore the world around them with your support is so great for them! ☺️

Mother’s Day Toddler Art Idea: Straw Flower Painting! 🪻💐✨

Add this to your Mother’s Day toddler art ideas! Perfect for all the mama’s and grandma’s in your little one’s life! 💖

Grab a straw, cut around the circle of the straw and you get the cutest little flower painting tool!

I added a watering can and some ribbon to spice it up! But you could always just cut out the shape of a pot or just paint the green stems all the way down the paper!

Such an easy painting activity that makes for the cutest end result!

Mother’s Day Toddler Activity: Pot Painting & Flower Planting 🪴🌸🍓🐞

I grabbed some Tera cotta pots and paints from Michael’s, Macy picked out some flowers from Home Depot, and we made the cutest little Mother’s Day flower pots! Perfect to keep one myself and give the other 2 to her grandma’s!

There are so many ways you can paint these; add fingerprints or handprints to them! Then decorate! ✨

I also think it’s super fun if you add in potting soil, the flowers, pots, and shovels into the sensory bin to let your toddler plant them with you! It was so fun to do this whole activity together! ☺️

Mother’s Day Keepsake: Salt Dough Handprint Frame & Jewerly Holder 🖼️💍🌸💖

We made the cutest little handprint frames that are the perfect Mother’s Day keepsake for mama’s and for grandmas!

I made 3 frames so I could keep 1 and give the others to her grandma’s! Then we had a little bit of dough left over, so I made a handprint jewelry holder too!

It is a little bit time consuming to make and paint, so put on a show, grab something to drink and have a little craft night when your little one goes down for bed! ☺️

I have everything I used linked in my storefront under ✨Salt Dough Frames✨

Salt Dough Recipe:
4 cups flour
2 cups salt
1.5 cups warm water

Mix and knead to get a dough consistency.
Throw some flour down in your surface & rolling pin, roll the dough out, press down your handprints, cut out, add to a baking sheet and cook at 200 degrees for about 2.5-3.5 hours or until they are hard!

Wait for them to cool, paint, and add some modge podge to seal it! ☺️

Or just buy some air dry clay and you don’t have to make your own dough! I just had all the stuff on hand and so I just made my own, but buying it would be easier! ☺️
